Bee sting remedy

There are a couple of things you can do as bee sting treatment.

First of all, when you get stung, remove the stinger with tweezers. Use a towel, soak it in cold water and place it on the spot.

A towel soaked in cold water acts as a cold compress that will reduce the swelling and redness of the skin.

Other bee sting home remedies

  • Mix a cup of distilled water with lavender oil. Do the same thing I described with cold water

or
Mix
  • 1 cup of apple vinegar
  • 2 drops of lavender oil

Lavender has a calming effect on skin.

You could also:

Mix 2 drops of tea tree oil with 1 drop of lavender oil. Use a cotton swab to gently apply on the spot.

Insect bites healing balm is a home remedy for any kind of insect bites. It reduces the swelling and redness and helps the skin heal faster.

Our reader's recommendation:

One thing about being a child is that you're always getting hurt. You could be falling down, or cutting yourself. You could get bit or stung by an insect or animal. The list is endless.

My home remedy is for a bee sting.

I was stung by a bee before when I was ten years old. I remember there was a lot of pain. My mother put on my finger what she used to call a " tobacco patch ".

To help a bee sting you take a small amount of tobacco out of a cigarette or tobacco pouch. Squish it together and then run a small amount of water over it until it becomes a sticky ball. Then you place the tobacco ball on the wound and apply a bandage over it. In about 5-10 minutes, the pain and swelling stops.

Honey bees are the ones that sting. This happens when honey bee is attacked, feels threatened in some way, or when it wants to protect the hive. The stinger penetrates the skin and infuses poison that can cause an allergic reaction.

Symptoms of mild allergic reaction

Itching
Watery eyes
Nasal congestion
Redness of skin

Symptoms of moderate to severe allergic reaction

Dizziness or light-headedness
Nausea and vomiting
Wheezing
Difficulty swallowing
Difficulty breathing

Be careful of allergic reaction to bee sting! Seek medical help immediately if you notice any of the abovementioned symptoms.

Also, if a child younger than 2 years old is stung, apply only lavender oil and don't expose to sunlight after that.
