Dark circles under eye

by Sherry
(Truro,Nova Scotia, Canada)

How can I reduce the look of darkness under my eyes? My family has a natural tendency to this. It seems if I wear foundation..which I hate..they look more apparent. Is there a natural teatment I could use? The only thing I have been using is vitamin K cream. Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Sherry.

Dear Sherry,

You are right, heredity is a big factor in appearance of dark circles. Make sure you get a lot of rest, lack of sleep can accentuate the circles even more. As far as the foundation, invest in buying organic, natural concealer. A Vitamin K cream is a good choice and Vitamin K helps restore the blood vessels. Vitamin C is also a good choice as it helps stimulate the production of collagen which will restore the healthy look of the skin.

Some home remedies that you can try include using cold tea bags, sliced cucumber or damp cloth which you will apply to the area and keep on for a few minutes. Dark circles under the eyes are often accompanied by puffiness and all of these ingredients help with it. They will reduce the puffiness and calm the skin down.

Don't forget to drink lots of water and avoid using a lot of salt in your food.
