Dry scalp - Home remedy for fast relief

Dry scalp is often accompanied by itching, flaking and sometimes redness. It is caused by either genetics, environmental factors or skin conditions such as seborrheic eczema. New research mentions fungi found in the environment as the main cause for this condition which makes it hard to treat.

Here is a recipe that might be helpful:

For Mask - Face & Hair

1/2 ripe Avocado
1/2 cup plain organic yogurt
1/4 cup organic honey
*optional is to add a few drops of 100% pure essential oil of Avocado

Leave it on your face for half an hour and on your scalp for 1 hour.

In addition, supplementing with flax seed oil, fish oil with Omega 3's and 6's is beneficial in nourishing your body from the inside.

Avocado is wonderful for dry skin. It is full of oil that nourishes and moisturizes the skin. Avocado is filled with Vitamin A and C, the latter helping collagen be produced. It also has panthothenic acid (known as Vitamin B5) that is extremely important for healthy skin and hair.

When your scalp ceases to produce the natural amount of oil needed for scalp health, it leads to dry scalp. So your first method / solution will be to restart this natural oil production through the use of massages. A 5 minute massage thrice a week is sufficient. What should you use for dry scalp massage? Among other, we have chosen to mention two options: you can create a mixture of olive oil and crushed aspirin or simmer a mixture of oatmeal (14 tbsp) and water (7 cups), which you strain after the solution cools and add rosemary water also. Apply either of these solutions to your scalp and massage properly for few minutes

After the massage cover your hair with a plastic or towel for 8-10 minutes and wash your hair with mild shampoo and cool water. Let your hair dry naturally; do not use hair dryers.

Another powerful skin moisturizer is the shea butter. Shea butter is a natural hair conditioner and also manages development of dandruff. Shea butter soothes the skin and provides natural production against ultraviolet rays. To use shea butter, take some of the solution in your hand and massage on your scalp.
