Our readers' tips - Home remedy for earache
This earache remedy was sent to us by our reader Kim. Even though home remedies found on this site are dedicated to skin and skin conditions, I couldn't let this one go as it is very similar to a home remedy for earache that my mom used to prepare (sans olive oil, instead, she used vegetable oil). This home remedy is not meant to cure or treat, it is simply there as an alternative way of dealing with an illness. Please consult your doctor.
Garlic has strong antibacterial properties, same properties that provide for earache relief. Earaches are common, especially in small children as their immune system is still developing and might not be as resilient.
Garlic Ear Oil Ingredients and equipment 1 entire garlic bulb, peeled Olive Oil 1 small mason jar. Preparation Put garlic cloves into mason jar & cover with olive oil. (I usually cover it about 2 inches or so.)
Put lid on, & place in a sunny window for 2 weeks.
After 2 weeks, remove garlic (use in spaghetti sauce or what have you...UNLESS you've added some other herbs, as I do occasionally. I've used mullein & you cold also use St. John's Wort. Do NOT use in spaghetti sauce then!) store in a cool, dark place.
Place 2 - 4 drops in each ear whenever you start to feel run down or sluggish or when you get signs of a cold.
Put cotton balls in after the drops, & repeat twice a day. THIS RECIPE WORKS! My eldest son was hospitalized as a baby for breathing problems (He was born in Japan) due to pollution & had NUMEROUS ear infections! However, once I was given this recipe, he's never once since. (He is now 11!) Everyone of my 7 children ask for it when they start feeling sick....It's inexpensive & works. God bless! Thank you Kim! More of our readers' tips Interested in more home remedies?
