To prepare this mask you will need the following ingredients:
(1). 1 tsp Gram Flour (this is a yellow color lentil flour which can be easily purchased from the Indian store which acts a facial cleanser and a natural facial scrub)
(2). 1-2 drops Honey
(3). A mixture of 2% non-fat milk (or even whole milk) + plain Yogurt (which reduce the size of the pores, improve the overall skin texture, and add a healthy glow)
(4). Turmeric Powder- a pinch (a yellow color powder obtained from a root which looks similar to ginger which leaves the skin soft, smooth and glowing)
(5). A little bit of lemon juice
(6). A dab (about 1-2 drops) of Olive Oil (as a moisturizer)
Mix all the ingredients together and apply the mixture on the face. The natural recommendation is to wash the face with hot water before applying the mixture primarily to open the facial pores which facilitates the easy absorption of the solution. Wash your face after 20 -30 minutes. A single application will not cause a dramatic difference. Periodic application is required to produce noticeable changes on the skin- which transforms for the better.
Note: Always test to see if a specific product has adverse effects on the skin before proceeding.
-The mixture cleanses the skin
-It is so safe that I would recommend daily use (and I do state this with a bit of caution as there are some who could have allergies to some of these natural products).
-The mixture restores sun tan
-The mixture dramatically improves complexion
-Turmeric helps in the removal of facial hair very slowly and checks the further growth of hair on the face
-Milk and olive oil acts as a natural skin toner and a moisturizer.
-The lactic acid in yogurt soothes, softens and tightens the skin and refines the pores. Its high nutrient content and natural antibacterial and anti fungal properties are useful to get rid of germs and other harmful bacteria that resides on the skin as the innocuous lacto bacillus in a heavy dose colonizes the skin surface.
Turmeric- which is heavily used as an ayurvedic medicine- is well renowned for its anti-oxidant properties which essentially means that it stabilizes unstable oxygen molecules on the skin. These molecules also known as free radicals cause damage to the cells on the skin which generally hastens ageing (usually seen as wrinkles on the face). Various other internal damages are also attributed to these radicals such as cancer. Turmeric powder when consumed internally with foods is also known to prevent cancer over time- it is more of a precautionary measure rather than actual cure. Medical journals touts about the healing properties of this root.
Please note that all of the above ingredients have been derived from naturally products which contains no artificial chemicals and are also recommended heavily in ayurvedic medicine. However- avoid using any of the ingredients if you are allergic to them. The wise judgment lies solely on the reader and the author is not responsible for any adverse effects.
