So you don't think I am talking about a highly complicated recipe, this is what honey milk bath is all about...
You guessed it...
The rule I like to follow when making this bath is that the quantity should match - say 3 cups of milk and 3 tablespoons of honey. As I mentioned, this milk bath recipe can be customized to your preference. What I like to do is substitute milk with butter milk. Not that milk is not good enough, on the contrary. Milk is full of lactic acid that is a kind of Alpha-Hydroxy acid (AHA) which helps dissolve the bond that holds the dead skin cells together.
But, back to butter milk... In addition to AHA, it contains even more fat than regular milk which is guaranteed to leave your skin silky smooth. Instead of 3 cups of milk you should use 2 cups of butter milk, that should be enough.
Then, you mix in honey. Use a jar to mix it well and simply pour it into a running bath. Honey is an antiseptic and cleanses the skin very well. It also nourishes the skin. So this milk bath recipe is truly all you need for great skin.
If you like to experiment even more, you could make a honey milk oil recipe that Sophie sent us:
You will need:
2 cups of milk
1 cup of honey
1/4 of a cup of baking soda
1 cup of salt (sea salt, Epsom, or if you don't have any other kind, regular salt)
1/2 cup of baby oil (Johnson's is just fine)
A few drops of your favorite essential oil.
Combine honey, milk, salt and baking soda in a bowl. Add to running water. Finally, add the baby oil and essential oil.
Thanks Sophie!
