Large pores

by kathryn peveri
(ma.)

My sister called yesterday for some advise on shrinking large pores. It seems we both have this issue and I would love some natural suggestions.

Dear Kathryn,

Large pores may be due to heredity and also appear larger if you have oily skin. In case of oily skin, extra oil stays inside the pores making them look bigger. To prevent this, make sure you use facial steam often. To help reduce the large pores, make a mask that is an astringent, which reduces their appearance by constricting the blood vessels. Any mask that contains citrus is a good choice (lemon, orange etc.). Squeeze 1/2 and add 5-6 tablespoons of flour to it. The mass has to be think, so add more flour to the mix if needed. You should be able to use the mix to spread it on the face. Apply this on the face and let it sit for about 20 minutes. When the time is up, wash your face with warm water.

Note: Kathryn, here are a couple of good facial steams: regular clogged pores facial steam and facial steam targeting oily skin.

Hope this helps!
