hydrating and amazing by: ashley
Whenever I go outside I always put on my favorite lip balm, chapstick with sunscreen or Vaseline. I think those are the best kind of products you can put on your lips. Another great thing to keep your lips looking great is drinking h2o and staying hydrated!

cheesy lip remedy by: michell
I gather up all those soda-and-candy flavored lip glosses sold in sets around Christmastime and use them constantly! They are cheap and easy to replace- and actually work- if I need a color on my lips, I just dunk one into my makeup color and apply.

Cracked and burnt lips by: Monica
A few years ago, I got severely burnt during a camping trips. My whole body was red and painful to the touch... my lips too! I didn't pay attention until it became really dry, painful and the skin started peeling. I used some of the Aloe Vera soothing gel for sunburn and applied it on my lips throughout the day for several days. It worked like a charm!

Cracked Lips BE GONE! by: Leslie
Lips do not produce oil like our skin, because they have no oil producing glands. The skin on our lips is actually mucous membrane, so for them to remain smooth and chap free is a bit of a challenge. The most common cause of cracked lips are allergic reaction to cosmetics, skin infections, extreme weather conditions like excess sun and wind exposure, biting of the lips or a vitamin B deficiency.

Lip Balm Recipe by: Anonymous
I have made a few lip balms, I used Shea Butter, Bees Wax, Grapeseed Oil, and jojoba oil. I cooked this in a double boiler and then let it cool and added Orange and Tangerine Essential Oil. My neices all love this balm! I have used Peppermint and Lemon Essential Oil too. Makes the lip balm taste great, and it helps with your "breath" too, it is better than "chapstick" especially because there is no petroleum or parabens in it!

All about the lip balm by: Anonymous
I tried my hand at making my own balm, and surprisingly it came out pretty good. I mixed beeswax and Vaseline together. For flavor I used coco powder and honey. The results I got were satisfying. When I exfoliate my lips to remove dry chapped skin I use a mixture of honey and sugar and just rub gently on my lips, sometimes I let it sit a minute or so and just wash off or if you have a sweet tooth just lick off. I love natural products and I enjoy coming up with something new.

Lip butter comment by: Peggi
I love the sound of this lip butter-vanilla almond sounds so, so yummy!! And what really impressed me was that there is no petroleum product in here. I would be very careful, tho', with the gold sparkle.
I have made lip balms in the past, and I found the use of beeswax made the balms harder to use, especially in the winter. I switched over to Candellila Wax, and that helped tremendously. These were the ingredients I used- avocado oil, meadow-foam seed_oil, aloe vera, shea butter, macadamia nut_butter, mango butter, vitamin e,flavor oil, candellila. Shea butter has a little SPF protection also. Also, putting the balms into tubes cut down on the messinesss factor.
