Natural deodorant alternative

I have found the best home remedy/alternative for deodorant: good ol' baking soda! Just dab it on under your arms with you finger or powder brush. It is NOT an antiperspirant - you will still sweat, but personally I think it is healthier to sweat, and it keeps you smelling better than any other deodorant I've tried!

Also try lemon juice!
by: Anonymous

The best, longest lasting natural deodorant I've come across is lemon juice (vinegar works as well, but doesn't smell so nice!). Just soak a cotton ball or wipe with some lemon juice and rub under arms. Let it dry. It's practically miraculous!

God has all the answers.

I was concerned about a new product I began to use
for perspiration under my arms. God told me to use
backing soda after I showered and it has been
working perfectly. I'm so pleased. First because
I followed His instruction and secondly it's
a product the He created for us to use for many
different purposes and it's all natural

"baking soda"
by: Debra

I have stopped using deodorants, because of the irritates. I showered with baking soda, and went on my way, and too my surprise, "no problem". This is my third day, I finally told my husband what I'd done, and he smelled my armpits and noticed very little odor, but he had to get really close. I will continue this, because it's my first time in years, not having bumps, and burning armpits. Thanks a lot.

Thanks Font Godess!

I have been having trouble with "Secret" brand. I have no idea why, but every time I use it, there is irritation and redness. And here in GA, with the humidity, well, it doesn't really help with the odor :) I will have to try this, too, I am glad you found it useful.

Absolutely True!
by: Font Goddess

I was skeptical when I read this somewhere. I have tried all sorts of "natural" deodorants, including the rock, and all were disappointing unless I just sat there doing nothing all day. Anyway, I gave the baking soda a try on a weekend when I was cleaning house. Totally worked. I've been using nothing else for the last two months, walking to work every day in the summer heat ... not the slightest trace of body odour!

It's cheap! It comes in minimal packaging. It's not toxic to you or the environment! It actually works! How many things can you say that about?
