Aloe Vera & Honey Deep Facial Cleanser is the second product made by Organicapure, organic skin care line, I was asked to review. You can read read more reviews on their Cocoa & Honey Delicate Body Scrub and Aloe Vera & Honey Shampoo.
Organicapure uses only natural, organic ingredients harvested in Mexico. Like I mentioned in other two reviews, their customer service and email correspondence were superb. You can read more about them here.
What attracted me to this cleanser was that it has honey and aloe vera in it, as its name says. Aloe Vera is the ultimate nourishing agent for skin and honey is the nature's anti-bacterial and antioxidant powerhouse.
When I first applied it, there was no mistake that there was aloe vera in it. The scent is unmistakeable. Further into it, I could smell honey and a hint of citrus. This gel is light in weight and works nicely into leather. It spreads easily but it doesn't dry off quickly like some other cleansers; I could feel moisture the whole time.
I've used both homemade cleansing facial cleansers as well as a few store bought ones. I can't just use a cleanser and leave it at that, I have to use a facial moisturizer. I was curious to see what would happen if I simply used this cleanser and left the face and neck to dry off.
I rinsed the cleanser off and waited until the skin was dry. Even after half an hour, the skin still feels soft and moist, there is no dryness to it. There is also a bit of tightness in the skin so this cleanser definitely has astringent properties in it also.
Since I am not very dexterous, I ended up with some cleanser in my eyes. No problem! There was no stinging or burning sensation. I rinsed my eyes and was good to go.
Here are the ingredients as listed on the website:
Aqua (Water), Aloe Barbadensis Miller (Aloe Vera) Juice, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Peg 50, Oatmeal Extract, Mel (Honey), Rosemarinus Officinalis (Rosemary), Chamaemelum Nobile (Chamomile) Extract, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Propolis Izotiazoline, Fragrance
This cleanser is packaged in 8.5 fl z (250 ml) plastic bottles and costs $26. The company currently ships to Canada, USA and Mexico.
The only negative, as with the body scrub bottle, is that I initially had a bit of trouble getting the bottles to work properly but once I did, it was all good.
There is not much to add to this review but that Aloe Vera & Honey Deep Facial Cleanser get my highest recommendation.
