Potato mask - back to basics
Indeed, potato mask is as basic as you can get in preparation of homemade skin care recipes. It might not be as fancy as other facial mask recipes but it is filled with vitamins and nutrients that leave the skin hydrated and pliable.The basic recipe involves slicing a potato, placing slices on the face, leaving them on for a few minutes, and then washing off with cold water. There are a few more potato mask recipes: Nourishing mask 1 Cook a potato, peel it and mash it using a fork. To this, add a bit of milk and an egg yolk. You can add a bit of water to make the mass smooth. Mix it well and then heat it up in the microwave. Be careful not to burn your skin, the heat shoul be bearable. Apply the mask on face, cover it with a wash cloth or a towel and leave it on for 20 minutes. Wash the face off with warm water and then cold water. Nourishing mask 2 Peel and grate a potato. Apply the mass on the face and leave it on for 20 minutes or so. Wash off with warm water. Nourishing mask 3 Boil and mash one larger potato. Add to this enough sour cream to make the mix smooth. Add to this a few drops of almond oil. Mix well until all the ingredients are well incorporated. If it is not very smooth, feel free to add more sour cream. The mask should be smooth but not liquid. Apply it on the face and leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash off with warm water. This mask is great as a winter mask or when your skin simply needs some refreshing and moisturizing. Blemished skin mask Grate a peeled potato, apply it on the face and cover with clear plastic wrap. Wash the face off after 20 minutes.
