Vinegar also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent that relieves the ongoing infection and reduces the redness and itchiness. Generally, apple cider vinegar is recommended for the preparation of this remedy.

Toenail fungi are persistent little critters. They LOVE keratin, the protein toenail is made of. But, they HATE anything that disturbs their environment.

This remedy is best used when the infection has not advanced. Of course, it can be applied when the infection is ongoing but chances are it will treat it better in beginning stages.

So, how do you prepare toenail fungus vinegar remedy?

There are basically a couple of ways to use it:

Undiluted

Using a Q-tip, apply undiluted vinegar directly on the nail bed and surrounding tissue. Repeat this a few times a day.

Soak your feet in undiluted apple cider vinegar for 1 to 2 minutes a few times a day. Wash feet and dry well.

Diluted

Dilute vinegar with water, you can use a 1:1 ratio. Since it is in its "weaker" form, it can be used for longer periods of time. Soak feet/toes in it for 20-30 minutes a couple times a day. Wash feet and dry well.

This remedy can be combined with other toenail fungus remedies for a more potent treatment. Alternate the above described treatment with applying VapoRub on the toenail and surrounding flesh. Cover it up with a bandaid and leave it on overnight.. To do so, use the vinegar remedy first, wash feet well and dry well, and then apply the VapoRub as described.

Warning!

Apple cider vinegar is recommended for this remedy. But, be careful!: apple cider vinegar can cause adverse reaction on the skin, causing redness and itchiness. To test it, apply some on the inside of your arm and leave overnight. If there is no reaction, proceed.
