Each year you are scrambling to come up with a Valentines day ideas for a gift and the process is frustrating because you are to come up with something unique that says that you care. On top of that, how does one find Valentines day gifts to make and not spend much money?

It made me realize that there are guys reading this site and that making skin care recipes can be more than just playing with ingredients or enhancing our looks. Preparing and sharing skin care recipes with your favorite guy might be unusual gifts for a man for valentines day but the point is to spend time together, build closeness, and show love.
But, where do you begin with Valentines day ideas for for a gift?

A couple of years ago, my husband surprised me with a wonderfully romantic spa night. The budget was tight so he came up with this (shhh... make sure the kids are asleep and there are no distractions :)):
Start off with a sensual massage
Warm up some olive oil and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Mine is lavender but you can choose any oil you like.
Massage the skin gently in circular motion. There are many massage oils as well as massage techniques to set the mood.
Vanilla, Jasmin, Sandalwood and Rose essential oils are thought to have aphrodisiac properties. Enough said! :)

Luxurious face mask to kick it up a notch
Next, he applied a chocolate face mask. Let me just warn you - make sure that if you are laying on your back, there is a plastic sheet or cover underneath you, this mask gets runny and you don't want stains on your carpet.
Mix 1/3 cup of cocoa, 1/4 cup of honey, 2 tablespoons of heavy cream and 3 teaspoons of oatmeal powder. Combine the ingredients and leave on the face for 20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Soak in a soothing bath
Finally, he prepared a bath. He went with Cleopatra's milk bath but you can certainly make it more sensual by preparing a vanilla bubble bath. Vanilla is an aphrodisiac, remember? :)
An added sexy detail would be to shave your partner - hey, it can go both ways! Do it gently, be careful, and have fun!

These might not be your typical Valentines day ideas for a gift, but it sure beats those expensive presents we all receive and never use. These are gifts from the heart, made with care and special attention to your partner's preference. They don't have to be expensive to mean something and a night spent together will bring you close together and enhance that spark.
You don't have to worry what kinds of Valentine's day gifts to make as long as you have a few ingredients and desire to experiment and enjoy together. That is what Valentine's day is all about.
