Hi, my name is Jessi and I found this website when I was searching for some good facial recipes. I really like the egg yolk with sugar, it helps keep my skin tight and it took away the redness of any acne on my face. I think I'm going to try this kind of stuff on my friends. Thanks for creating a very helpful website, Jessi.

Hi Jessi,

Thanks for the nice comment and welcome to the world of skin care recipes :)

From a Retail Perspective
by: Jennifer

I recently got a job as a beauty promoter for a high end retail chain. Just yesterday we had product specific training with a representative from one of the brands we carry. This particular brand is all natural, I got to try some of the products and was told some of the key ingredients and what they do. The products work really well and I was convinced that they work far better than the cheaper chemical based products, but I could never afford them. I thought why should rich people be the only ones to get this great skin care so I decided to research and find out how to make them and I came across you website. I am looking forward to trying out the recipes.

Hi Jennifer,

There are all natural brands out there that are fantastic and work really well but some do cost quite a bit. I try to focus on more affordable ones, with simple ingredients that you can easily find and buy. I look forward to hearing from you when you make some of the recipes :)

Steam treatment success!
by: Danielle

Hello, I just wanted to say thank you! I was searching on the Internet to find a natural way to cure my clogged pores when, I found this website. I am so glad that I did. I used the lavender steam treatment but I added a few drops of tea tree oil as well. I could not believe the results, I could immediately tell a difference from how my skin looked before and how it felt. My skin is much smoother and so much clearer. I will be coming back for more remedies :)

Hi, Danielle,

Great idea to add tea tree oil to the steam! Thanks for the comment,

Combination skin type issue
by: Anonymous

Hi,

Love your site as it is really helpful and very good but i keep getting lost and confused with a lot of remedies. Hence can you please help me by providing a sequence of skin care steps (such as face wash, toner, moisturize, scrub, steam, etc)and the frequency of each of them using natural remedy for my combination skin issue. Since i am a pure vegetarian, please avoid recipe with ingredients such as eggs, etc. I would love if you can provide one best recipe for each step and its sequent and frequency.

Thank you so much in advance.... love your site and have recommended to a number of people.

Foot Scrub
by: Mary

Hi, you have a recipe for a foot scrub recipe calling for 1/4 lemon juice.

Is that the juice of one fourth a lemon, or 1/4 cup lemon juice. Thank you.

Hi Mary,
My guess, without looking at the recipe, would be 1/4 cup of lemon juice but to be sure, could you give me a link so I can let you know? Thanks, Biljana

Hello Everybody!
by: Boogie

I'm really excited about learning new information and anything that deals with skin, home remedies and beauty.

I enjoy using and learning about beauty products. As a young girl I learned early to mix simple healthy foods together as a mask. I didn't read it anywhere. I just knew that if a fruit was good for my body why couldn't it do the same for my skin. I love trying new things, I just discovered that using canned pumpkin on your skin as a mud or cleanser really leaves the skin baby soft. I want to learn more about doing homemade body wraps. I was always interested in learning about the skin, at a young age I had problem skin and didn't get rid of it until my late twenties early thirties. I had to visit an ayurvedic specialist and take a series of herbs to clean the blood and my skin was like a baby's skin.

I always believe that food, plants, herbs if used correctly were healers and that nature always have something to say. I know that it's healing in nature for the body and mind.

One of my tips is that when you do positive things to your body like a massage or body wrap you give yourself positive strokes.

Please read I am a big fan
by: Kionna Bevan

I don't no where else to say this but I am a huge fan of your website! It looks like you did a lot of work to create this. I have been a big fan of youtube and google for home remedies and recipes and things for any beauty thing you can imagine of! I love looking at home remedies for hair, skin, pimples, and lip balms etc.

This website has everything! This helped a lot and I wanted to thank you so much! I am planning on being a cosmetologist when I am older and I always try different remedies all the time, my family thinks i am crazy haha. I think that the essential oils where the best thing to know because I have the lemon and other ones.

I love it when I find recipes that I actually have. And when you said that the lemon oil was good for your face, I mixed it with water in to a spray bottle and now every morning I spray it on my face.

I also like finding new spot treatments on you site and making potions of the things I have that are said in different recipes on other things and here and I mix them up and put them on my pimple. For instance I used aloe vera gel with lemon essential and tea tree I have not tried it yet though. I tried the flour and orange face mask. Now my family is actually used to me wearing all these crazy things on my face, but it kinda scares them.

Hi Kionna and thanks for the wonderful comments. I am glad you are enjoying the site.

Thanks,

Making homemade beauty recipes
by: Carole

I am really excited to start possibly making some of my own products for my skin. I'm tired of worrying about what "chemicals" are in the products I'm using and whether they are really "natural" or if its just another marketing ploy. This way, I will know without a doubt what I'm using on my skin. Now, how do I get started and how can I do this without spending a lot...I. am quite frugal. I want to use ingredients I've heard of, nothing weird.

I guess you have come to the right place! :)

Start out by searching this site for ingredients that you have around the house. This way, you will use what you already have and come up with good recipes. From there, you can start getting supplies such as essential oils and butters, to make more complex recipes.

I would also recommend Handcrafter's Companion, an ebook that I refer to when I need some ideas or I am looking for a good recipe.

Good luck, I hope this helps,

Request for recipe to reduce grey/gray hair
by: Anonymous

Hi! Thanks for all this exciting information.

Do you have any natural health tips for premature greying/graying? (Preferably something that could be applied topically which is safe and won't irritate my sensitive scalp. Also, I have seborrhoeic dermatitis and can't use rosemary or patchouli essential oils).

Thanks very much.

Best wishes.

vegan?
by: Anonymous

I love your site! I'm really interested in finding an alternative to the beeswax and vaseline base for your lip gloss recipe. I'm vegan and don't like to use petroleum based products because of their impact on the earth. Do you have any suggestions on what to use?

More recipes for makeup rather than skin care would be so much fun, especially a cream or liquid foundation!!!

I'm also desperately searching for a natural treatment for keratosis pilaris.

So far the Coffee facial treatment has been a life saver. So just wanted to say THANK YOU!
