Terrestrials Pure Earth Hair Wash, Mud Shampoo

A rerun of Dirty Jobs featured a family ran business, Terrestrials, producing natural hair products. One of these was Terrestrials Pure Earth Hair Wash.*

Known as the "mud shampoo," this product is clay based and combined with herbs and essential oils. It is completely natural and suitable for different hair types. You can learn more about this product and which shampoo suits which hair type on the product page.

Also, to find out about the ingredients used, click here.

They offer four different shampoos: Lavender Garden, Cool Mint, Sultry Spice and Fragrance-free. I could not decide which one to go with, so I am giving away a gift set of all four.

How to help oily hair
by: Claire pritchard

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.
Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.
Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.
Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.
To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Hope I helped anyone with oily hair out

Be Curly
by: Tracy

I love Aveda's Be Curly line (I believe that is what it is called, have not had it around in ages LOL) it smells great, and makes my hair curly and not crunchy like other products. So nice to find something like that - sadly out of my price range now, but in the day used their stuff all the time :)

hair care recipe
by: Tracy

The best thing I ever do for my hair is to do a vinegar rinse perhaps twice a year. I use apple cider vinegar and just rinse it threw then wash it right out - really well - our you smell awfull. My hair is very curly and this just bring it out, and leaves it SO shiney and healthy.

I rarely use a comb or brush. For my hair finger-combing and styling while my hair is wet helps to control damage. Great giveaway.

What moisturizes my hair
by: Demetra Mensah- Bonsu

My favorite hair product is actually a combination of different products. I apply all these in consecutive steps. First I must dampen my hair which I do through a moisturizing spay such as sweet nature by eddie's growth spray. Then I apply my light water based leave-in(komaza care shea butter hair lotion), then I apply my heavy, oil based leave-in(qhemet biologics amla and olive heavy cream), and then I apply a butter(komaza care moku butter) to seal all the moisture in. I do this every three days and my hair thanks me for it, as it remains moisturized.

Dry baking soda and brush
by: Beth E

I have very fine, fragile hair and most shampoos are too harsh. So I only wash it every 3-4 days--between times, I use dry baking soda and brush.

My daughter & I currently use baking soda & water to clean our hair followed by an apple cider vinegar rinse. Although this works well for me now, my daughter has long, thick, curly hair so she's having a difficult time coming up with the right amount to make her hair look & feel clean!
